Introduction to the WAPDA

The Federal Government of Pakistan's Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority is an autonomous and independent entity that is responsible for maintaining the state's water and power utilities. Following independence, a parliamentary act created WAPDA, which is responsible for operating and actively managing the demands and needs of Pakistan's domestic and commercial sectors. WAPDA owns the country's large dams. It also has plans to finish five more multi-dimensional barriers to meet the expanding demands of the power industry.
